1. Members Volunteers
a. The spine of this branch, needed for all projects as volunteers
b. Should be trained down the road in basic da’wah and foundations of Islam
c. Will be asked to fulfill a 50-hour service requirement in order to ensure their membership. If they do so successfully they may put MAPAC Hasanaat as an extracurricular on their resumé or college application or use it to fill their service quota for school if they have one.
d. Will be asked to complete atleast one service project a month and encouraged to take up leadership for projects as well.

2. Project leaders
a. Be effective recruiters in order to fill volunteer requirments for their specific project.
b. Will provide details/specifics to each project (i.e. directions, dates, times, procedures, contact information of projects, work out logistics, be responsible for transportation)
c. Project leaders will need to communicate effectively with Sondes, MSA reps, the secretary, members at large, and myself.
d. Will be responsible for logistics of project and the main source and fact-finder for the specific project.
e. Project leaders will be required to write at least one e-mail to everyone involved with Hasanaat with all necessary information pertaining to their project.

3. Bulletin Board Editor/Webmaster : Sondes Karoui currently holds this position. Basically she maintains a calendar of events, updates the webpage, creates a scrapbook with pictures of our activities and summaries of each activity as well as posting sign up sheets of all the activities up on a bulletin board in the masjid so people an sign up.

4. Secretary : The secretary will be responsible for attending every meeting, taking attendance and contact information of all the members and take minutes of the meeting. He or she will be responsible for getting the contact information in an e-mail group, sending out the minutes to myself, Sondes, and the members at large. They will also occasionally be asked to find phone numbers or contact information of specific projects. (NEEDED! ASAP!)

5. MSA Representatives : MSA reps will be the spokesmen and women of Hasanaat in schools. We will ask each MSA to inshaAllah appoint a representative who will be a member of Hasanaat and will be a liason between Hasanaat society and the MSA in order to publicize events, recruit additional volunteers if needed and provide service activities that MSA members can engage in as well. All interested highschool MSAs an College MSAs will be encouraged to participate. MSA reps are responsible for knowing the happenings of hasanaat including the project leaders, dates, number of volunteers needed, directions etc. and be effective communicators to their MSAs. They are also responsible for recruiting potential new members and getting their contact information.
Wouldn't that bee too much overhead effort to maintain reps in all High schools? (MORE NEEDED, BE A REP FOR YOUR SCHOOL!)

6. Adult/College-Aged Advisor : An advisor is necessary to maintain order at meetings, oversee all components of the crew making sure each is fulfilling their duty. Advisors will be asked to accompany as many projects as they can, be a driver, support the group, advise it and make sure the ebb and flow of the organization maintains its focus on the mission statement as well as fulfilling its objective in the most effective way as possible. MAPAC HASANAAT
The outreach branch of Muslim American Public Affairs Council

NOTE: this is a drafted outline with comments, subject to change...

Mission Statement
The Hasanaat Society will strive to create a network of young Muslims who will work together to effect positive change in our community for the sake of Allah.
[only young Muslims?]
[positive change in which way? (e.g) by spreading the spirit of volunteerism]

Objectives
InshaAllah, Hasanaat Society will encourage its members to serve Allah by serving the people, enhancing the community by giving from what it has, and using the prophetic model to become trustworthy, inspiring agents of such change for both Muslims and Non-Muslims.

On-going Activities
We decided that we would do 3 service projects a month for this school year and chose leaders for each of the projects. If we keep these small projects up for the entire year inshaAllah we will make our presence known in these organizations and in greater Raleigh. The three activities we are trying out are as follows

Soup Kitchen/Feed the Hungry
Sophia Malik
First week of the month

Habitat for Humanity
Amaani Asad
Second week of the month

Comments: Isn't that too much every month? Willyour team be able to sustain that considering that all of them are HS students?

One-time Events
These are events that would only occur once in a year and be more large-scale than regular MAPAC hasanaat activities but would require more resources, more volunteers, and more work overall but would effect more publicity as well.

1. Blood Drive with IAR
2. Women’s Fundraiser for Islamic causes overseas
3. Ramadan or Eid Service events for the Muslim community
4. CROP walk (fundraising walk in Cary for the Hungry)- Ayesha Ali is heading this activity

Comments:Would a big event in Ramadan be suitable, considering that most volunteers like to limit activities during Ramadan and concentrate more on worship?

Here are our projects for this month, contact project leaders if your interested in helping! Please if everyone could just sign up for ONE thing we'd get everything accomplished inshaAllah!
